EuroMaintenance Awards Protocol
Co-organised by the European Federation of National Maintenance Societies (EFNMS) and the Salvetti Foundation (SF). Recognising excellence in maintenance across Europe

Background — It starts with Why
Maintenance awards play a pivotal role in recognising the outstanding contributions of individuals to the essential field of maintenance. People are the driving force behind effective maintenance, and their expertise and dedication ensure that our world is well cared for and sustained for future generations. By honouring individuals with awards, we elevate them as heroes and ambassadors for the maintenance profession, inspiring others. Presenting these awards not only acknowledges excellent achievements but also generates positive exposure for the maintenance sector and attracts new talent — truly reflecting the Salvetti Foundation’s motto: “Maintaining our world.”

History
After several years in the EFNMS Board of Directors, Dr. Stefano Salvetti founded the Salvetti Foundation (1988) to sponsor, organise, and execute the awarding of the Euromaintenance awards per EFNMS statutes. In 2015 (Antwerp) the EuroMaintenance Incentive Award was renamed to EuroMaintenance Manager Award (EMMA). The SF organises three awards: European Maintenance Manager of the Year (EMMA)M.Sc. Thesis Award (MTA), and Ph.D. Thesis Award (PTA). The awards ceremony takes place at the bi-annual Euromaintenance conference.
