A Milano il 9 marzo 2020 sono stati premiati 30 progetti degli studenti italiani eccellenti con la selezione per il Concorso europeo “I giovani e le scienze 2020”. Il Concorso è la tappa italiana di EUCYS, la più importante competizione europea per gli studenti, voluta dalla Commissione Europea, dal Parlamento, dal Consiglio Europeo e dai Governi degli Stati membri. I migliori studenti rappresenteranno l’Italia anche in altri prestigiosi eventi mondiali riservati ai più meritevoli quali ad esempio nel 2020: REGENERON ISEF e GENIUS negli Usa, BUCA IMSEF e INSPO in Turchia, IEYI in Russia, LIYSF a Londra, EUCYS in Spagna, ESE ASIA in Abu Dhabi, Mostratec in Brasile, ESE AMLAT in Argentina, Expo Sciences in Messico, TISF a Taipei, IFEST in Tunisia e altri ancora. La manifestazione finale del Concorso era prevista su tre giorni con la partecipazione di studenti, insegnanti, pubblico, giuria e autorità, con esposizione dei progetti, visite guidate, conferenze (attesi Elisa Palazzi del Cnr di Torino e Marco Bersanelli, astrofisico dell’Università di Milano. Per via delle restrizioni dovute all’emergenza del Covid-19, che ha impedito la larga partecipazione delle precedenti edizioni, l’evento è stato ridotto ad una trasmissione in streaming. I premiati sono stati informati direttamente del Premio e delle prossime opportunità di viaggio all’estero per le quali sono stati accreditati.
Per la Fondazione Salvetti ha fatto parte delle Giuria del Concorso il socio Pietro Oriani, esperto di scienza e tecnologia. Il Presidente Stefano Salvetti ha inviato un messaggio di congratulazioni alla Fast con i complimenti a tutti gli studenti finalisti. Paolo Lutteri ha partecipato alla proclamazione dei premiati in streaming, con Angela Bracco, Presidente della Società Italiana di Fisica, Alberto Pieri, segretario generale della Fast, Laura Colombo, Ceo di Etass, Antonio Protopapa, Direttore Corepla. Sono intervenuti con video messaggi Giovanni Adorni, presidente AICA, Roberta Cocco, Assessore del Comune di Milano, e Massimo Gaudina, Capo Rappresentanza a Milano della Commissione Europea.
La Fondazione Salvetti ha sponsorizzato l’inrero evento, ma ha offerto un riconoscimento particolare a Ilaria Montanaro, Andrea Padoan e Matteo Porzio dell’ ITI Omar, Novara, per il progetto ‘Magic Cup’: un dispositivo di puntamento, fissato sull’aletta di un berretto ed azionato dal movimento del capo, che sostituisce il mouse di un PC che, a sua volta, è connesso tramite LAN al braccio Comau E.do. FAST AND SALVETTI FOUNDATION
In Milan on March 9, 2020, 30 projects of excellent Italian students were awarded with the selection for the European competition “Young Scientists 2020″. The competition is the Italian stage of EUCYS, the most important European competition for students, wanted by the European Commission, the Parliament, the European Council and the Governments of the member States. The best students will also represent Italy in other prestigious world events reserved for the most deserving ones such as in 2020: REGENERON ISEF and GENIUS in the USA, BUCA IMSEF and INSPO in Turkey, IEYI in Russia, LIYSF in London, EUCYS in Spain, ESE ASIA in Abu Dhabi, Mostratec in Brazil, ESE AMLAT in Argentina, Expo Sciences in Mexico, TISF in Taipei, IFEST in Tunisia and others. The final event of the Competition was scheduled over three days with the participation of students, teachers, public, jury and authorities, with exhibition of the projects, guided visits, conferences (Elisa Palazzi of the CNR-Turin and Marco Bersanelli, astrophysicist of the University of Milan: due to the restrictions due to the emergency of Covid-19, which prevented the large participation of the previous editions, the event was reduced to a streaming broadcast. The winners were informed directly of the Prize and of the next opportunities for travel abroad for which they have been credited.
For the Salvetti Foundation, the member Pietro Oriani, an expert in science and technology, was part of the Jury of the competition. President Stefano Salvetti sent a congratulatory message to Fast with compliments to all finalist students. Paolo Lutteri participated in the announcement of the award winners in streaming, with Angela Bracco, President of the Italian Physical Society, Alberto Pieri, general secretary of Fast, Laura Colombo, CEO of Etass, Antonio Protopapa, Director Corepla. Giovanni Adorni, AICA President, Roberta Cocco, Councilor of the Municipality of Milan, and Massimo Gaudina, Head of Representation in Milan of the European Commission, intervened with video messages.
The Salvetti Foundation sponsored the event, but offered special recognition to Ilaria Montanaro, Andrea Padoan and Matteo Porzio of ITI Omar, Novara, for the ‘Magic Cup’ project: a pointing device, fixed on the flap of a cap and operated by the movement of the head, which replaces the mouse of a PC which, in turn, is connected via LAN to the Comau E.do arm (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQYLjjoRzeE&feature=youtu.be).
